Plastic Free July

This month is Plastic Free July. Citizens are encouraged to reduce plastic waste and refuse single-use plastic products.
You may be wondering why this is relevant. Well, studies show that plastic use has many harmful side effects, such as being carcinogenic, which can lead to cancer, and promoting hormonal imbalances, which can lead to a multitude of health issues.
Plastic debris is everywhere. It pollutes our bodies of water from rivers to oceans. Food containers, beauty products—you name it—plastic is a common material used for storage and packaging. Further, many people choose not to recycle or are ill-informed about plastic that is recyclable and plastic that is not recyclable.
Here at Kaia Earth we’ve joined the Plastic Free July movement, and we encourage you to do the same.
Reducing plastic use is easier than you think. Small changes in your lifestyle can make a big impact on the environment. Instead of using plastic grocery bags, bring reusable bags when you’re shopping. Use reusable water bottles and coffee mugs instead of plastic. Refuse plastic straws or inquire about paper straws when you’re eating out.
It’s also important to take a look at your beauty products when reducing plastic waste. Aim for makeup and skincare goods that come in glass or other plastic-free material.
Since Kaia Earth launched, our Intensive Botanical Night Cream and Pure Moisturizer Day/Night Serum have always been packaged in recycled glass. We’ve chosen to not use any plastic in our process. Not only do the glass containers aid in sustainability efforts, but it keeps our products fresh and of the highest quality.
In fact, there are still plenty of things you can do to reduce your plastic footprint, wherever you live and wherever you shop. Have you made the change yet?
Challenge yourself to reduce your plastic use this month for your health and for the health of our planet.
