Not just a skincare brand, but a champion for animals
October 4 marked World Animal Day, a day to honor all animals of the world through raising awareness through any means possible. It’s a holiday near and dear to the heart of Kaia Earth family.
If our love for our planet wasn’t obvious enough by having Earth in our name, it’s important to note that we’ve worked tirelessly so that we can proudly say our ingredients are 100% cruelty-free and never tested on animals. All of our ingredients are plant-based, and we’re certified vegan.
Love and giving back are two of our four core values here at Kaia Earth. We LOVE all of you who buy our product, we love the animal kingdom, and we love our planet. From day one it’s been our mission to give back to our world in a meaningful way, so we joined 1% For the Planet, an organization that brings businesses, nonprofits and individuals together for a safer environment. By joining 1%, we pledge 1% of our sales to nonprofit organizations dedicated to protecting our environment.
Protecting our environment means protecting our animals. Oftentimes, the best way to protect animals is to educate those around us on their importance in our environment and ways to keep them safe.
Rather than spewing reasons why you should care about animals, we’ll share a personal anecdote.
Our founder, Gloria, has traveled to Africa several times with her son, Stefano, to volunteer and educate the natives on how important it is to maintain the ecological integrity of our environment and protect the animals that live among them, especially endangered species like elephants and rhinos.
Gloria—a business owner, psychologist, and all-around kick-ass woman—has done research on animals, particularly on elephants. She had the chance to observe how elephants are highly self-aware and can recognize their own reflections in a pool of water. Gloria saw that elephants show amazing powers of memory regarding where to go to find food and water, following the same paths for many generations, and they respond very emotionally both to the arrival of a newborn infant and to the death of a companion. Their social intercourse, family bonds, great sensitivity and intelligence are evident to anyone who is lucky enough to study them closely.
The more we learn about elephants, the more important it seems that we should care enough to save these intelligent and magnificent creatures from extinction and make strenuous efforts to ensure their survival.
As an emerging skin care brand, it’s our job to educate you on the ins and outs of our products, from ingredients in both our night cream and moisturizing serum to the benefits you’ll get from using them. As devoted animal lovers, we feel it’s our job to use this platform as a way to educate and give back to a community that means so much to us.
