Celebrating International Women’s Day
March 8 marks International Women’s Day, which was established over a century ago in 1913. It’s a remarkable day aimed at ending discrimination against women, a movement that is near and dear to our hearts here at Kaia Earth.
At Kaia Earth we believe women deserve equal rights no matter what race, religion, creed, political views, or culture they come from. We strive to empower women of all ages and colors and we support the values of International Women’s Day.
Over one billion people on earth are impoverished, and the majority of those are women. On average, women only make 60 to 70 percent of the same wage as men for the same work. The inequity is undeniable, and steps must be taken to close this gap.
The theme this year is #eachforequal, so take a moment to think about the ways you can have an individual impact on forging a gender equal world. International Women’s Day encourages people to “Celebrate women’s achievement. Raise awareness against bias. Take action for equality.”
Many biases are unspoken and unseen, like the wage gap, for instance. But we can’t let this stop us from taking steps in the right direction. Change doesn’t happen overnight; it’s incremental. Every day is a new opportunity to support women and further this cause.
Everyone has a voice, and every voice matters. That’s the beauty of living in a world filled with diversity. Go on freely and happily expressing yourselves and embracing new opportunities. At Kaia Earth, we stand behind women and support them as a source of strength to lift them up and make sure their voices are heard.
Happy International Women’s Day!
